The Center

We now have multiple locations through our Chapter Groups. Visit our Chapters Page to learn where our current locations are located.
Kali Center is a unique school of Filipino Martial Arts renowned by its tradition in the authentic science and training methodology of the blade brought to the Philippines and preserved by the natives even to this day. The structure of the Center reflects the tradition of combat readiness and effectiveness while maintaining a dedicated in depth practice to the art and science of Kali.

Students learn Kali by our logical step-by-step progressive curriculum, practice and develop skills through traditional training methods. All students begin with the traditional training tool of the rattan stick which represents the bolo or espada (short sword). Through the practice of the single bolo/stick you will learn the principles to apply strategy and tactics via applied geometry and science. As the student becomes more proficient in the use of the bolo/stick they then learn how the principles apply to all other weaponry such as the knife and empty hands.

In addition, through the ranks, students will learn how to apply each area of kali.

Ranks of the Kali Center System

Here is an overview outlined look of the Kali Center ranking system without going into further detail.  Rank promotions are based on physical skill performance as well as academic intellect.

At Kali Center we hold high standards for our students and the preservation of the science. Ranks promotions are given in a traditional manner. There are no required testings. As the teachers who are authorized to promote ranks observe consistency in skill and academic understanding promotions will be granted.

At Kali Center students will learn the art in a logical progression by progressive training and detailed teaching as the art should be. This alone is what distinguishes Kali Center as a school from other Filipino Martial Arts styles. We teach, train and develop through a true and proven system which is based on the study and application of geometry, physics, and authentic training methods.
